Effective communication is critical for business: assertiveness, searching for consensus, confrontational disagreement, interpreting and delivering messages are only some of the issues we cope with on daily basis. We know that people from different cultures have different values and behaviors. If neglected, they obstruct communication and compromise the quality of work and relationships. This series of workshops is designed to raise an awareness of different communication and patterns and biases that we encounter in a multi-cultural environment and provides debiasing strategies, which help us to communicate more efficiently.
Who should take the training?
This training is designed for professionals who live, work and communicate in multi-cultural environments such as international organizations or companies with business relationships abroad.
Workshop 2.2 A: Communicating Arguments
How to have other people seriously consider you point of view? How to frame your message so that it is more convincing? We will discuss how to properly and persuasively present arguments.
Workshop 2.2 B: Vive la différence! Critical thinking and inclusivity in cross-cultural context
Have you ever got into misunderstanding with your foreign colleague or customer? Did that make you feel confused or even desperate? Different cultures have different ways of thinking and communication. Nowadays we communicate globally and we need to understand different patterns of thinking and argumentation across different cultures as well as develop the mindset to embrace this diversity. We also need to develop flexibility in order to adjust to a particular situation and sensitivity in order to be able to match the right cultural context with relevant thinking patterns.
